Push it!

I think from my past 2 posts I have made it clear that I enjoy exercising. Throughout high school sports always kept me busy, and more often than not I was training for one thing or another. I would say my body went through a great deal of stress and fatigue from the workouts our coaches had us do. They weren't ever easy, oftentimes the thought of going easy, or quitting a little early came into mind. However, I didn't quit early. Because of that I saw the benefits of those hard workouts when competition came.

How similar my spiritual life's pattern has been to this! Throughout high school I was busy with church, seminary, and other responsibilities that weren't always easy for me to do. Sunday mornings would come around and I would think how nice it would be to sleep in, to just skip church this Sunday. But I didn't. Because of that, I saw the blessings that Heavenly Father bestows upon his children that are faithful to him, I have a testimony of that.

Life isn't always easy, but when it isn't easy we can expect to see great results as we continue to persevere. So, my brothers and sisters, keep at it! Keep pushing! the Lord will bless you!

All things done in wisdom and order.

When it comes to sports a rest is good. Our bodies are continually beaten and tested and eventually they need a rest to recuperate and heal themselves. I think out spiritual bodies are the same, and the wonderful thing about that is Heavenly Father knows that! Sundays, the Sabbath, are a perfect way to "rest" our spiritual body in the best place to do that! Going to church is like a spiritual healing spa. If we look at if farther our Sunday spa could be a chance to Study, Ponder, and Apply.
Each day in the weak our spiritual bodies can be beaten and tested as we face the rigors of everyday life. I know mine does, and attending church is the blessing of healing we can experience each week as we partake of the sacrament and keep the Sabbath Day holy!
So go on and give your spiritual bodies a rest and go to church this Sunday!!

Staying in Shape

How do you stay in shape? Running? Playing sports? Lifting weights? Swimming? All are great ways to keep our physical body in peak and optimal condition. But what about out spiritual body? How do we keep it in shape? Like with our physical body, there are numerous ways in which we can keep our spiritual body toned, lean, and healthy. Reading scriptures, praying, meditating, going to church (just to name a few) are all ways that we can "exercise" our spiritual body, and work to keep it in the desired condition. But, like our physical body, if we don't use our muscles, they begin to atrophy and weaken. Therefore, we must continually exercise our spiritual muscles frequently!
Consider me your spiritual "trainer". Now go out and work those spiritual muscles!
